If anything, it's more of an indictment of how poor the Wii U did, as Super Mario 3D World was the second best-selling game on the system. The success of Super Mario World + Bowser's Fury on Nintendo Switch is unsurprising, especially considering the improvements and new content on offer. Super Mario World + Bowser's Fury has had the third biggest Super Mario Bros. launch on the Switch, behind Super Mario Odyssey and Super Mario 3D All-Stars. These figures only account for physical sales of the game. According to Christopher Dring of on Twitter, Super Mario World + Bowser's Fury has already sold almost three more copies at launch than Super Mario 3D World did back in 2013. Super Mario World + Bowser's Fury launched worldwide on February 12, and it has already seen considerably more success than the Wii U original. The Captain Toad minigames now have a four-player option, like the rest of the game. The original only featured couch co-op, but the Switch port has added full online functionality, as many people still cannot meet up in person. The Switch version of Super Mario World + Bowser's Fury improves the base game by making the whole experience faster. Super Mario 3D World was one of the last big Wii U exclusives to come to the Switch, and it has finally received an updated remaster, in the form of Super Mario World + Bowser's Fury. Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Furyis off to a flying start in the UK, as it sold three times as many physical copies at launch on Nintendo Switchas the original did on the Wii U.
